This is a montage of my year in Chengdu, shot using an iPhone. Various footages of friends, training partners, teachers, and mentors. Chengdu is a magical city for the hopeless romantic. The misty envelope covers most mornings but is greeted by the sun. It’s a lot like Seattle, not that I’ve been. The rain visits frequently to wash away the dirt on the bricks of alleyways. I’m received like the prodigal son at his one mom and pop noodle shop on the corner. Greeted by the youngest son who’s the bookie and takes my order. To explore requires a good appetite and an instinctive openness to embrace the new.
